The positive count of COVID-19 is growing day by day in the Indian political arena. The COVID-19 pandemic is getting worse and worse every day. Not only the common citizens but the high-level politicians are also not safe from this.
Two weeks ago, 25 MPs of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha had tested positive for COVID-19 in the recently concluded Monsoon Session of Parliament. Before that incident, multiple union ministers had tested positive for COVID-19 as well. Now Vice President of India Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu has also been affected by the COVID-19. This news has been announced on Tuesday evening.
The Vice President is in the home isolation. His wife Usha Naidu’s COVID-19 test report has come negative though. Yet she is in a precautionary home isolation. According to the report, he has no symptoms of COVID-19.
This information has been tweeted from the verified Twitter handle of the Vice-President’s Secretariat. The tweet was “The Vice President of India who underwent a routine COVID-19 test today morning has been tested positive. He is however, asymptomatic and in good health. He has been advised home quarantine. His wife Smt. Usha Naidu has been tested negative and is in self-isolation.”
Significantly, before that announcement Naidu addressed an annual healthcare virtual conference on ‘Post-COVID Healthcare World’ on Tuesday evening. In this healthcare conference, Naidu had requested people to take maximum precautions between pandemic and punished the instances of stigma and discrimination against frontline warriors of COVID-19 and the patients as well.
